What Rillio is

Rillio is a free, open-source media player and library organizer. It ships empty: it hosts no content, indexes no content, and bundles no add-ons. Out of the box it plays your local files, ordinary HTTP streams, and whatever catalogs you choose to connect.

Add-ons are yours, not ours

Catalogs, streams and subtitles come from third-party add-ons that you find and install yourself. Add-ons are independent services run by other people; Rillio does not operate, endorse, review or control them. A link to a community directory is informational, not a recommendation of anything listed there.

BitTorrent is a transport

Rillio includes a BitTorrent engine because it is an efficient way to move large files, and plenty of content is distributed over it with the rights holder's blessing - open movies, public-domain films, community releases. That is what the torrent support is for. What you access through any protocol is your choice and your responsibility: stick to sources you have the right to use.

Your data

Rillio has no accounts, no tracking and no data business. Your library and history live on your device. Connecting a Stremio account for sync is optional, and disconnecting keeps everything local. Note that BitTorrent, by design, exposes your IP address to peers.

Problems and takedowns

Rillio operates no servers and cannot remove a third-party add-on from the internet. If something on this website or in the project's own materials infringes your rights, open an issue or contact the maintainer on GitHub and it will be addressed.

No warranty

Rillio is free software under the GPL, provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. The source is public; read it, build it, verify it.
